THIS CAR IS NOW UP FOR SALE! Consider this project a reliable “ground up” cruiser with a hint of custom built touches to show winning standards. A RamJet small-block, a Heidt’s Mustang II front suspension and a Ford 9″ in the rear keep things simple and functional underneath, but some serious work is taking place on the outside. Headlights and taillights are being replaced with Lincoln units, and so are the door button/handles and steering wheel. Also executed is a mild chop and subtly reshaped grille. Chopping a convertible top and still having the top mechanism function is no simple task, but function is as important as appearance at Steve’s. Think simple and think clean. The same thought was brought into the interior with leather and styling cues from the same era Lincoln interiors. On the original completion the little Convert donned Olds hubcaps on it’s white shoes, but they were later updated to chrome Chrysler wires with Ford emblems in the center spinner caps. This changed the whole complexion of the car and threw into the mix yet another element of class. A glass smooth variation of Kandy Brandywine coats the sleek exterior. This car starts at the touch of the key and runs and drives as good as it looks. With something around $250K to $300K invested in this car, it is now offered for a very reasonable price of $85,000.00. This is a very good buy for an excellent fresh build, it should not last long at this price. Of course, any reasonable offers will be considered. (steve@realsteel.com)
