1959 Plymouth Sport Fury, the very first year of the “Sport” Fury. This Fury has the 361 cubic inch “Golden Commando” V-8 with a 4 barrel carburetor rated at 305 horsepower. The car underwent a fairly thorough amateur restoration about 10 years ago and was driven off and on for about 5 years after restoration, then put into storage for 6 years. This can be seen by various scuffs and scrapes in the undercarriage, although the underside of the car is quite respectable. There are no real signs of rust or any signs of rust repair ever having been done on the car. The car shows about 15,000 miles on the odometer and it is just about as hard to believe that it would be 115,000 miles as it is to believe it is 15,000 miles. It could be 15,000 as the car is in that good of a condition. This car has many options and accessories including power steering, power brakes, pushbutton automatic transmission, pushbutton radio, pushbutton fresh air heater and defroster, windshield washer, variable speed wiper switch, driver and passenger swivel bucket seats, padded dash, padded steering wheel, padded sun visors, front buffer end guards, cigar lighter, full wheel covers, whitewall tires, electric clock, tinted windshield, automatic headlight dimmer, remote driver’s mirror, dual mirrors, back up lights, and a rear speaker behind the rear seat in the package tray. There were only 17,867 Sport Furys made in 1959, so it is a fairly rare car. Email or all (503 665 2222) with your questions.
