David Brost has spent the last 20 years designing and building cars here at Steve’s Auto Restorations. Unlike many designers, Dave enjoys a hands-on approach and spends much of his time elbows deep in a project’s construction. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in graphic design, but his passion for antique and custom cars led him to pursue a career in the custom automotive industry. Dave’s most notable completed design to date is probably the 1937 German Ford dubbed Baron von Kuhl, which can be viewed in completed projects. He redesigned the concept three times in ten years before the project began to gather steam, but the final product has earned immense recognition. Some of the Baron’s accolades include Best of Show at the Portland and Seattle Roadster shows, as well as a first place finish at both the Rodeo Drive and Forest Grove Concours. Dave’s latest creation is the heavily modified ’57 F100 pickup in┬áthe completed projects section and was a huge hit upon debut.
